Who we are

Football Away Day Planner (footballawaydayplanner.co.uk) is run by a sole trader based in the UK, who is the "controller" of the personal data described here. You can contact us at hello@footballawaydayplanner.co.uk.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we collect:

When you use the planner, you type in trip details: your club, where you're travelling from, your dates, how many of you are going, your budget, the options you pick and any notes. We don't ask for your name or email to use the planner.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. To understand how the site is used, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or follow you across other websites. It gives us totals such as how many people visited, which pages they viewed, the website that sent them, and their browser, device type and country.

Why we collect it

We use your email address only to tell you when Football Away Day Planner opens, and the club you choose to decide which fans to open to first. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist. You can withdraw it at any time.

How the planner uses your trip details

To build your options and itinerary, we send your trip details to our AI provider, Anthropic, which writes the suggestions and sends them back. We don't keep a copy of your trip details on our servers. Please don't put personal information such as names or phone numbers in the notes box.

Your saved plans are stored in your own browser on your device, not by us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

To stop abuse and keep the service free, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that you're not a bot, and we count how many requests each internet (IP) address makes per day. Those counts are deleted automatically after two days.

Visitor statistics

To see whether the planner is useful, we count what happens in it each day: how many phones or browsers visit, how many of those have visited before, and how many options, itineraries, saved plans, shared plans and tips there are. To tell new visitors from returning ones, your browser keeps the date of your first visit. We only keep daily totals. We don't record who you are, your IP address or what you planned, and the totals aren't used for advertising or shared with anyone else.

You can opt out at any time, free of charge, on each device you use:

Plans you share

If you tap "Share with mates", we store a copy of that plan so the link works: the game, the options you picked, how many are going, your dates and budget style, and the itinerary. Your notes are never included, and we don't ask for your name. Anyone with the link can open the plan. Shared plans are deleted automatically 30 days after the match.

Tips you suggest

If you share a tip, such as somewhere to eat, drink or stay, we store what you type (the club, the type of tip, the place and any detail you add) so we can check it. If we approve it, it's published in the planner for everyone to see. We don't ask for your name or email, so please don't include personal details. Tips we don't approve are deleted, and unchecked tips are deleted automatically after 120 days.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use a small number of service providers to run the site, who handle data on our behalf and under contract:

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you haven't created an account within 12 months of launch, we'll delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To make a request, email hello@footballawaydayplanner.co.uk.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes, and tell you by email before using your data in a new way.
